Getting Your Life Back

Have you ever looked in the mirror and didn't recognize the person peering back at you? Did you ever think "who have I become?"  In 2006, being as honest with God and myself; I did not like the answer to my own question.  I had lost friends, finances, a marriage, positions, stability, cars and many material things. Out of everything that I had lost, Jeneen was the thing that I missed the most.

When I lived in Washington State, Pastor William and Sister Graham use to say, "Never lose your sweetness."  In essence what they were telling me was that "life" happens and there will be a choice to become hard and bitter but  you must remember to remain sweet, and authentically you. I have chosen not to become bitter, but yet remain getting better.

Your path can take you to places that you've never imagined or even wanted to end up. With each detour, there is a lesson that awaits you to learn it. Time is not wasted if you learn something while you are there. Sometimes, the lesson that needs to be learned is how to stay true to you by not getting lost when life shuffles the deck and deals you a hand that you want to throw back. There is no greater earthly connection, friendship or love than the one you cultivate with yourself. When someone you truly love is lost, or out of alignment, you spend lots of energy trying to get that relationship back to a good place, until it becomes useless for you to chase. But when it comes to yourself, a major event has to occur before you realize how much of YOU that has slowly slip away. I have truly learned to LIVE now, not just exist and that life is meant to be enjoyed and not endured. Simple is better and less is so much more. In spite of the pain, I have enjoyed getting my life back. I have also learned to never to lose sight of the purpose that God placed me here.  No matter what happens, where I go, who I encounter, I understand that it all must fall in line with my divine purpose. I have been reintroduced to ME and I like this one much better.
